Web TV Catch-Up: The Couple, Squaresville, Burning Love, F to 7th, Awkward Black Girl

A lot of exciting series have been premiering and finishing over the past few weeks! Here’s what to look out for.

The Couple

As the Black & Sexy team prep a feature-film version of their hit sitcom, The Couple, they released this episode from the second season! In it our couple is confronted with another couple. Hijinks, of course, ensue.

Squaresville

IAWTV Award winner Squaresville is back for season two! When we last left our nerdy heroines, they were in the midst of an epic fight. Esther took Zelda to task for her taste in men, even as Zelda ignored Esther, who may be in the process of — spoiler alert! — coming out.

Burning Love

Fresh off an incredibly successful Streamy Awards, where it took home four trophies, including best comedy, Burning Love is back! And this time, it’s the ladies’ turn. Season one spoofed The Bachelor, while season two veers toward The Bachelorette. Can Yahoo keep the magic going with its breakout hit?

F to 7th

F to 7th is the spin-off of the hit (now deceased) web series The Slope. Created by Ingrid Jungermann, F to 7th covers much of the same terrain, including lesbian politics, the peculiarities of Park Slope culture and dealing with aging.

The season includes a number of great stars, including Amy Sedaris, Ann Carr and the return of Michael Showalter as Brooklyn’s Park Slopiest resident.

The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl

Issa Rae’s Awkward Black Girl is currently wrapping up its second season on iamOTHER. Most the season has followed J’s disappointment with professional life and her complicated relationship with White Jay. In the first part of the season finale, J is still broken up with White Jay and waiting to hear back from a job as Boss Lady returns to wreak havoc once again!
